Word bio - Martin Thaulow

Martin Oluf Thaulow is Scandinavian based artist trained and educated in the traditional craft of painting, later expanding his artistic field as a video artist, currently having video art, multimedia installations and painting as his main media.

The past years he has been collaborating with a wide range of artists from other visual media e.g. glass, ceramics, theatre, music and performance art. This involved a number of installations, performances, set designs, visuals for concerts, music videos and fine art exhibitions. He explores the human perception and test possibilities of combining different media, always with a genuine signature and expression as his chief aim.

The past years the work by Martin Thaulow have been shown in USA, UK, Finland, Sweden and Denmark.

Apprentice in the studio of the painter Jan Esmann. This was practical training  as well as theoretical studies. The practice of in depth analysis of artworks of one’s own, as well as works from various periods and schools. Visits at museums and exhibitions were a vital part of the education. Equated to the level of a BA in Fine Arts.
