VISUAL NOTES

This sub site is created to let people view some of the material used as inspiration and some of the work in the state of work-in-progress.
One of my working methods - Using digital cameras to make short video sequences and snap shots as a visual note to remember and capture a desired image, moment, state of mind or atmosphere. This is what you will experience at this page... Some of the material is unedited, work sketches and others are manipulated. New stuff will be uploaded frequently, so stop by now and then!

Visual Note 02
Visual Note 02 - iPhone Triptych.
All video sequences are shot with an iPhone.
The soundscape is made out of the realtime audio, whale and dolphin recordings + soundrecordings from the University of California, Berkeley, when forcing liquid helium-4 through thousands of tiny holes.
Visual Note 01
This visual note is a combination of the "Magical visual note from the Chicago Subway", the sound inspiration from Union Station Chicago, (which I went back to record), the Danish airspace in slow motion and snapshots from a Bornholmian graveyard.
Magical visual note from Chicago Subway
When traveling with the subway to downtown Chicago, I wanted to document the lady speaking behind. The images turned out to be quiet magical as a left the camera shooting for quiet some time. Notice how the space changes, when the subway goes underground...
Sound inspiration, Union Station Chicago
Listen to the computer track ladies talking together. I went back and recorded it in a good sound quality, which I will use together with the magical train sequence... Soon to be uploaded...
Blue Jug, Yellow Cup, (The first video note)
My first magical video note from 2003, that inspired me to create the "Film-Painting". The play back of this sequence convinced me of the importance of the video media and its abiity to create a powerful expression. The composition seemed to be as in one my still lifes, the sound makes it meditative and notice the woman, behind the cup looking in the room, making it a love story. She walks in, puts the bread on the table as the "slam" makes the bells stop. Nothing was planned!!! This seemed to be pure magic and video became something a had to master.
