Film Painting
A dialogue between different medias
Specs
The Film-Paintings made so far each measures 60 x 300 cm all together. Each of them (LIFE and AGE) consist of two paintings, 60 x 100 cm, and video/ film-sequences of approx. 5 min shown on a flatscreen (60 x 100) in-between the two paintings. Headphones are attached to the installation so that the spectator can hear the sound scape undisturbed from the gallery's other visiting guests and get a total experience from the film painting.
Dogmas/ Conventions
Both paintings and film-sequences are made under mutual conventions/ dogmas, when making a film painting. Dogmas such as dealing with the same theme, choice of compostions, colour, method of approach ect. The rules are made to make film and painting coherent and in order to start an interesting interaction and dialogue in-between the different medias.
